1. Important: WhatsApp Pricing Update Effective July 1, 2025

WhatsApp is updating its pricing from the current conversation-based model (24 hrs) to a per-message pricing model starting July 1, 2025. This change may increase your WhatsApp costs if you're using automations to send multiple messages to staff or clients in a day.
Good news:
All incoming messages and bot replies remain free — charges apply only for template messages.🔄 What’s Changing?
Before:
One flat fee for all template messages within a 24-hour conversation.After July 1:
Each template message will be billed individually, including:✅ Marketing templates
✅ Authentication templates
✅ Utility templates sent outside the 24-hour Customer Service Window (CSW)
⚡ Utility messages sent within an active 24-hour CSW remain free.
💸 Why It Matters:
If your automations send multiple WhatsApp messages — like staff notifications, new chat alerts, or appointment confirmations — each one will now be charged, which can increase your messaging costs.
✅ What We've Done to Help:
We’ve added Push Notifications in the Whautomate mobile app so you can keep your team informed — without extra WhatsApp charges.
🔧 How to Enable:
Staff can go to
Settings
→ Notifications
in the mobile app and turn on push alerts.⌛ Take Action Before July 1:
Review your automations and switch staff updates to push notifications where possible to avoid added costs.

🔗 2. Connect WhatsApp Business App to WhatsApp Cloud API (Now Supported on Whautomate)

Meta now allows businesses to
link their existing WhatsApp Business app account
with the Cloud API

🛑 Not all WhatsApp Business numbers are currently eligible for Cloud API coexistence. Eligibility is generally limited to businesses already sending high message volumes and planning to scale further.
🛑Please note that not all Cloud API features are fully supported under the coexistence model yet. Meta is gradually rolling out functionality, so certain capabilities may be limited depending on your region and onboarding stage.

⚠️ 3. WhatsApp Template Policy Enforcement

WhatsApp is rolling out new global enforcement measures to prevent misuse of message template categories. Here's what you need to know:
✅ Businesses misusing template categories (e.g., using utility for marketing messages) will receive a written warning.
⚠️ If misuse continues, WhatsApp may enforce the following restrictions:
- Reject all approved utility templates
- Disable category reviewsfor 7 days
- Block creation of new utility templatesfor 7 days
📌 In repeated cases, these enforcements may extend up to
30 days
.To avoid penalties:
- Review and follow template category guidelines
- Ensure utility templates are not used for marketing purposes
- Create proper marketing templateswhen promoting services or products
